Life in a restricted area

The inner german border 1949 to 1989

To remember the inner german dispartment from the baltic coast to the river Elbe

The association GRENZHUS e.V. was set up to run and preserve the museum in Schlagsdorf near Ratzeburg. It is the intention of the association to make the GRENZHUS a leading contact point for questions concerning the inner german dispartment in the area of the baltic coast. We want the latest history to be available for the public, and the facts about the life at the former border of the GDR  to be comprehensible for the coming generations.
